This may take some time…

The latest version of this business has taken a long time to get ready and it’s still not quite there but, I’m launching anyway.

There’s no polished brand guidelines, no user manual, or inspiring tone of voice exemplar to follow. What I have is a starting point. Yes, admittedly it may look a little more polished than other starting points, but what can I say, I am a designer. My point is, that I’ve started before it’s fully there. I’m going to go with the flow on this. Start putting stuff out there. Start talking to people. Start sharing. It’s going to undoubtedly evolve.

That’s quite exciting.

I’d like to be where I think it can go now. Creative dreams about it pop into my head. Those dreams aren’t tangible though, they don’t exist… yet. They may never do. What I envisage may not be what is wanted. So I’m making a start now, before it feels ready, before I invest too much time and daydreaming in a direction that finds no traction.

Of course there’s strategy; yes there’s a scribbled lean canvas and value proposition and yes there are hopeful initial products. Strategy that’s been done with pen and paper though, quickly, like it had been laying in wait til I was ready to listen. All will be tested now live.

What there isn’t is perfection and an answer to everything. The form this latest version of my business takes is one of practise, enquiry and evolution. So it may take some time…

I expect technical teething problems, I expect surprises. I’m hoping not too many silences.
